Tiina Majabacka  (b. 1980, Turku) is a visual artist working with video and painting. With video she explores themes sourced from the cultural history of fashion and aural history. Majabacka's video work draws from filmic aesthetics, performative gestures and elements of improvisation. In her videos she works as director, scriptwriter, performer, costume designer and editor.

What does the sound of a silk dress tell about its wearer and the society surrounding her? What did sounds from ruffs mean in society? Majabacka has lately been working with video series that explores the historical sounds of clothing. The sounds of the clothing in focus have been everyday sounds arising from the interplay between the materiality of clothing and the movements of the body. These sounds can be classified as silence or background noise. The sounds of clothing represent the voices of their society and era. The series is an impossible attempt to reconstruct, play, and record these forgotten sounds.
Tiina Majabacka earned master's degree in arts from Aalto University in VICCA program in 2024, minor in costume design. She graduated as a visual artist from the Arts Academy of the Turku University of Applied Sciences in 2019, including six months Erasmus+ exchange in the fine arts painting programme in the The Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) in Gent, Belgium. Majabacka graduated as a graphic designer from Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) Barcelona 2007 and she has several years of working experience in the field.

Majabacka has had three solo exhibitions: in Galleria Huuto (2024), in Kulttuuritalo Laikku’s Studio (2024) and in B-galleria (2020).
